Dear LHS Parents, Students and Staff

On behalf of the LHS Parent Teacher Student Organization, I want to welcome you to the 2007-2008 school year. We anticipate a very busy and productive year! Over the past four years, we have awarded over $55K in scholarships to graduating seniors. Our goal this year is to award $20K in scholarships to the Class of 2008. Another important goal of the LHS PTSO is to SUPPORT our faculty and staff. During the year we show our appreciation to the LHS faculty and staff by providing them with several catered Breakfasts and lunches. During Teacher Appreciation Week we honor them each day with a token of appreciation for their dedication to our students. Also, this year we wanted to participate in a community service project by sponsoring the Heart Screens for Teens in our school. Currently scholarship packets are being distributed to the Class of 2008.
In order to be eligible for the PTSO Scholarship monies, parents must be PTSO members (scholarship applications will be processed thru the counselors office early fall).
Effective this year, beginning with the Class of 2011(incoming freshman), parents must join and be members of the PTSO all four years in order for their student to be eligible for scholarship monies their senior year. Memberships for the 2007-2008 school year will be accepted thru September 27, 2007.

Our yearly scholarship fundraisers are the Miss LHS Pageant in February and our Chick-Fil-A Biscuit Sales on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. Also, beginning this year, we will be having our RUNNING WITH THE DEVILS 5k Road Race and 1 mile Fun Run scheduled in November.
